I was going to be off work for roughly two months due to surgery.\u00a0 I knew not much would happen the first couple weeks, I’d be sleeping a lot, and I did.\u00a0 But after that I could get a great deal of stuff done that I had been putting off.\u00a0 I’d work on all my blogs and websites, clean\/organize my office, get ready for the spring semester for school, update AutoCAD on my home computer, and some other random stuff.\u00a0 It was truly going to be a productive time.<\/p>\n
Well, I go back to work in four days, and I have accomplished almost nothing.\u00a0 I did get some posts done for my blogs, but nothing in the way of maintenance or upkeep.\u00a0 I got my desk cleaned off and roughly “organized”, but that’s it.\u00a0 Didn’t do a $#@! thing regarding school.\u00a0 I have binge watched Forensic Files.\u00a0 Didn’t watch many of the other shows on my Netflix list, though.<\/p>\n
*sigh*<\/p>\n
I once read a book about procrastination (forget the title and author’s names).\u00a0 The authors related a story about a weekend seminar they put together to work with and interview procrastinators.\u00a0 They planned this whole big shindig for over a year.\u00a0 A week before they had almost no one signed up, in the single digits if I recall correctly.\u00a0 They seriously considered canceling, due to insufficient interest.\u00a0 Then, in the last five days scores of people rushed to sign up, and filled all the slots.\u00a0 The seminar was a huge success.<\/p>\n
But why did the sign-up process almost go so horribly wrong?\u00a0 They figured it out, and were very embarrassed about it.\u00a0 Their target market was… procrastinators.\u00a0 And they did exactly what they do.<\/p>\n
I chuckle every time I think about that story.<\/p>\n
Anyway, back to me.\u00a0 Four days.\u00a0 Lots to do.\u00a0 Yeah, I can pack it in.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
